Nashri – Jawahar Tunnel four laning

District Development Commissioner Ramban, Muhammad Aijaz held a meeting with revenue officers, engineers and representatives of construction agencies working on prestigious four laning project of NH-1A from Nashri to Jawahar tunnel and Railways for smooth shifting of public utilities, an official statement said.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohan Lal, ADC, Angrez Singh Rana, Xens of PHE, PDD, PWD, TLMD-III Udhampur and representatives of the companies, AFCON, IRCON Railway, Navayuga, Ramky, HCC, GAMMON India, NHAI besides other officers.
Taking into account importance of prestigious Railways and four lane work, the DC assured the companies engaged on job for removing all bottlenecks on National Highway.
The DDC directed the companies to restore water sources affected due to construction works being executed under Railways and four laning projects or provide alternate water supply to the areas.
He exhorted upon the construction companies to provide employment to locals on priority basis.
The DDC also reviewed the progress of shifting of HT Towers and other utilities including their reinstallation and developing suitable environment for construction work. Some issues were also resolved on the spot.
He asked the construction companies to ensure start of protection work on the sites of unsafe towers due to earth cutting and shifting of transmission line’s towers on priority basis so that execution work of four laning project is not delayed.
DDC also directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by maintaining potholes and drainages besides ensuring proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places.
